Our laboratory contains various test rigs with stirred vessels and bubble columns from the smallest scale of 1-10 l to 1.5 m³ volume. With the help of chemical and optical measuring methods, it is possible, for example, to analyse mixing processes and the effectiveness of mixers at the molecular level. Laser and ultrasound measuring methods form the basis of mixer optimisation and the scale-up to the pilot scale and large-scale installation.

In the field of aeration technology, basic analyses of mass transport and bubble formation are carried out on the laboratory scale. In addition to standard measuring techniques according to DWA or ASCE, bubble size distributions can be determined, for example, in order to characterise membrane aerators more accurately.
