Research Secretary of State Stefan Müller visits INVENT

Erlangen: Stefan Müller, Parliamentary State Secretary in the Federal Department of Education and Research and Member of the German Bundestag for Erlangen and Erlangen-Höchstadt, was able to get a comprehensive picture of the INVENT Umwelt- und Verfahrenstechnik AG during his recent visit to the company.

In the context of supporting a nationwide research project in the field of water and wastewater treatment, which INVENT is involved in and which is backed by the Department, the company and the State Secretary met each other at the beginning of the year. Following the encounter Müller accepted the invitation to visit the company’s headquarters in Erlangen-Eltersdorf and to find out about various water- and wastewater-related subjects.

Dr.-Ing. Marcus Höfken, INVENT’s CEO, introduced the company, which was followed by a tour of the premises providing Müller with the opportunity to get an idea of INVENT’s activities in the field of research and development as well as of the entire scope of products on display in the test tanks in both full and reduced scale.

The State Secretary was particularly interested in the collaboration of all parties involved in the research project as well as in how federal funding for medium-sized companies is rated. Höfken then praised the cooperation of industry and Federal Government and its efficiency. He also pointed out the tight economic situation for the water and wastewater treatment industry in Central Europe and explained how research and development could make better progress when publicly funded, which in turn would secure competitive advantages.

Müller was especially delighted that INVENT has not lost any of its innovative edge in 20 years and that it continues to be committed in the field of water and wastewater treatment on an international level with novel ideas and enthusiasm.
